Tips For Your GreenHouse

Growing plants in a greenhouse requires some tricks in order to produce healthy and strong crops. The following are few tips for greenhouse gardening.

• Make a special bed for corn where you can plant it directly into the ground. In order to save space in your greenhouse, plant pumpkins between the corn.

• Crushed egg shells can help add nutrients to the soil. Put eggshells in different areas of your greenhouse. Also, coffee grounds can increase soil acidity.

• If you are using tap water to your plants, let it stand for a day to clear the chlorine present in the water. Use water that is at room temperature.

• When planting seeds, avoid frequent watering. Too much water may cause the seed to float to the surface of the soil and that would affect its germination.

• Have a space where you can do the preparation separate from the growing area. Having an organized greenhouse will have a positive effect on your plants growth.

• Vegetables that need bigger spaces in between rows are beans, cabbage, pepper, cantaloupes, squash, tomatoes and watermelon.

• Mix vegetables. Put together plants from different families which have different needs to minimize competition on soil, water and nutrients.

• Dig at least two feet for plants that grow deep in the soil such as onions, carrots and beets. This will help the plants grow large under the soil.
